Harry Potter
Well, I’m on the Harry Potter band wagon now. It took me a while to get around to it (and you may remember me writing a post about it a couple years ago), but now I’m in the Potter-verse. Over the past week, I’ve read the first book, made it half way through the second and saw movies 2-4… I got caught up just in time to see the new movie – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – on Wednesday. They’re not bad – definitely not Lord of the Rings, though!

Welcome to the Harry Potter bandwagon. How was this last movie?
I suggest reading through to book 6 before the 6th movie comes out. I enjoyed reading the books prior to the movies coming out. They are also easy and addicting reads. Best of luck finishing all the books too.
PS I found this on my bloglines feed last night but it was erroring on your website. And not showing up at all when I went directly to your blog.
aw, you caved? my vast army of non-potterites is slowly crumbling!
One of us…one of us…
Bought the (then) 4-book box set after Goblet of Fire came out, and I’ve been addicted ever since. Rowling and the succession of directors has really built a universe, all with a nice British, stiff-upper-lip attitude on things.
Strangely, I’m not looking forward to the next one. “Half Blood Prince” was a kick-in-the-teeth, and I don’t think I’ve recovered.
Welcome to the club. I’ve been a HP fan since the first book showed up. Have all 6 in hardback and am picking up the final installment this Saturday. Seems like it’s been years between #6 & #7 – oh, yeah, it has been years, #6 came out in 2005. Glad you’re getting involved. I understand your comment on the “Lord of the Rings” etc., but who can compete with John Ronald Reuel Tolkien – by the way, he’s English as well.
