You want to know drama...check out all the things on ESPN about the coaching position. Also check out cats pause and the Rupp Rafters message board. 16,000 people were on there at one point today. You talking about craziness. Some of these post are crazy about who is better or not as coach. Need less to say, any coach that sees some of these post know better than to come to UK after reading all of these posts. So who will Kentucky go after now. Yeah Billy the kid would have been the best fit but that isn't going to work now, and all the other back up candidates that would be "best fits" are locked up with extensions now as well. Pat Forde has done a lot of good articles on this. I guess I can root for Vandy to try to alleviate the stress of everything with my beloved wildcats. Once a fan always a fan though. This is what everybody had to go through during the 80's, and look where we ended up during the 90's.

Gillespie signed an extension, so he's out of the picture. I think we all know the AD is going for Donovan first....

Since it does not seem like a move was made after the tournament this past weekend, I would start speculating that the first choice may just be Donovan. Therefore nothing will be done til after the Final Four, which makes other coaches suspect the same and if Donovan turns them down the other coach is the second choice. Total speculation from the unenlightened in the Hoosier state. I hope to hear more about all of this when I hit Florida in a couple days.

Pitino has said he's not interested in coming back to UK, Calipari has signed an extension to stay with Memphis... The list is shrinking.

Agree with nickmc about Morris, he was most likely gone no matter what, but with the coaching change why not go ahead and bolt. He improved quite a bit this season and performed more to his expected talent level. Morris is the first Wildcat under Tubby that I have actually seen finally improve and become the player he should be.

The only big man that we have is Jared Carter, who I assume was red shirted this season after the shoulder injury. A good coach and staff could bring him up to speed and make him a threat in the paint.

Tubby's recruits are up in the air but also think about the recruits that may come along with the new coaching hire. Who does Memphis, Texas A&M, Florida, etc have coming Fall 2008?

It is definitely going to be a rebuilding year, especially under the basket. I look forward to seeing what a new coach can due with the talent we have in Jasper, Meeks, and Stephenson. They had great starts as Freshman and I believe a new coach can improve on that success, and make them very strong players by their Jr and Sr years.

it really doesn't surprise me (or bother me) that randolph morris left. the only thing that concerns me is that they don't have a good big man to replace him... it's going to be tough next season.

Yeah, that's the next poll - Who Do You Think Will Be Kentucky's Next Coach - if the position hasn't been filled yet.

I voted on who I think "should" be the coach next season...not who I think "will" be. I would really love to see either Billy D or Ricky P back in the Bluegrass, but I just don't think either will happen.
