Person of the Year

BushTIME magazine has named their Person of the Year and it’s George W. Bush.

For sticking to his guns (literally and figuratively), for reshaping the rules of politics to fit his ten-gallon-hat leadership style and for persuading a majority of voters that he deserved to be in the White House for another four years, George W. Bush is TIME’s 2004 Person of the Year

I like this from the article:

An ordinary politician tells swing voters what they want to hear; Bush invited them to vote for him because he refused to. Ordinary politicians need to be liked; Bush finds the hostility of his critics reassuring. Challengers run as outsiders, promising change; it’s an extraordinary politician who tries this while holding the title Leader of the Free World.

Gah… The antichrist would win person of the year! http://www.bushisantichrist.com (Here’s the evidence to back this up Chris!)

    GAH! MY COMMENTS WON”T SHOW!

  4. Chris December 20, 2004 at 00:51 #

You call that evidence? Please don’t tell me you believe that… Sad, sad, sad… I’ve heard Barney is the anti-Christ, as well as numerous other people, with the same kind of “evidence.” Please, gimme a break. I think someone has yet to learn that not everything they read on the internet is true….

Wow, I’m not a bush fan, but I wouldn’t have the gall to post trash like that link.

Wow, you have issues! Pointing out someone’s mistakes and sins as proof that there the antichrist is sad. If that were the case, everyone in the world would be the antichrist! And the person who came up with that has waaaaaay too much time on their hands. And maybe I missed something, but I don’t think the antichrist will worship God.

  7. Bryan December 20, 2004 at 20:13 #

Yes, Jeremy, you were wrong. The Antichrist is the greatest deceiver of all time. The Bible indicates that the he will pretend to be religious – in fact he will ultimately pretend to be God, and will be worshipped as God half way through the Apocalypse. More than any other president Bush wears his religion on his sleeve for political gain, and to deceive the world. He believes he’s been appointed by God (rather than the Supreme Court), and sees himself as on a divine mission. Let’s face it – that’s only a short drive from believing he’s actually divine. Bush recently told an Amish group in Pennsylvania that “God speaks through me.” Another story that ran in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz tells how Bush had told Middle East leaders that ” God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam [ Hussein], which I did” First of all, what is interesting about these voices Bush is hearing, voices which are effectively telling him to go kill people, is that Jesus consistently taught his disciples to overcome evil with good rather than with bombs and bullets and violence.

Read The Book Of Revelations… It’s all there. I’ve been skimming it for the past while tonight.

  8. Chris December 20, 2004 at 20:34 #

No Bryan, you are wrong. You can’t understand what Revelations is saying by just skimming it. They book is much too deep, much too allegorical for skimming or reading. Heck, I’ve had a class on it and I don’t understand it fully. The only way to truly know who the anti-Christ is to be in tune with God. God will reveal the anti-Christ to believers. They will know.

Bush does not wear his faith on his sleeve for political gain. If so, then why does he do so many things that divide the nation, such as supporting faith based programs, seeking to ammend the constitution to ban gay marriage, etc. If he wasn’t the most support from people, he wouldn’t tackle these issues from a religious perspective, or at all.

I believe God does speak through him, and is using Bush to accomplish God works. I believe God speaks through all of us. Does that mean we’re all the anti-Christ or divine? I think not. Does that mean we’re all “hearing voices?” I think not.

Everyone, please pray for my cousin. He’s really worrying me, and it seems no one can reach him or talk to him anymore. I don’t know how it got to this point, because he has a loving family who I thought took him to church. He claims to believe in Christ, but he’s against prayer in school, against the 10 commandments on school and government property, for gay marriage, thinks the Salvation Army is satanic, etc. I really don’t know what to do to reach him, so let’s all be prayer warriors to break the back of the demons that have enslaved his mind. Please pray. Thanks everyone

Wow, guys, get a load of this… Not only is Bush the anti-Christ (according to Bryan), but Barney is the anti-Christ, Mikhail Gorbachev is the anti-Christ, Bill Gates is the anti-Christ, and even *gasp* David Hasselhoff is the anti-Christ!

It’s on the internet, so it must be true!

  11. David December 21, 2004 at 14:35 #

Hey Bryan, Can I get those scripture referencse for the antichrist stuff? And just so you know it helps to read the passages and not just skim them. Skimming leads to taking things out of context where as reading gives the full context. Why don’t you check out a commentary to aid in interpretation. Better yet, let’s see you at church and ask the preacher about your questions. I think you are really confused here, and need to figure things out.

Bryan, the first thign we are taught as scientist and looking up info on the web, is “not everythign on the web is true”

  13. Bryan December 21, 2004 at 22:47 #

    Well… I know I’m right everyone!

  14. Nick December 22, 2004 at 02:39 #

Also in case you didn’t know it Rick Warren is also the antichrist.

    Bryan,
I imagine that your goal was simply to get a rise out of some people, but if it’s not, I encouage you examine the Bible itself and not simply what some web site claims.
Furthermore, if issues of faith really interest you, I suggest looking at things other than the antichrist! People can argue about such things for years. What is much more imporant (in my opinion) is realizing that God has a plan for your life, and that life can be lived as a relationship with God.

I can understand if you just said that to get a rise. But, if you want to be “real world” about faith issues, check your pulse and see what these things mean for you personally.

Dude, just look at Bush. Ya know I may only be 14, but there is something I realize… And that is that war is hell… and it should only be used as a last resort. All you guys keep saying that it was (is) a good thing we went to war and stuff and to quote many of you “The War In Iraq Is a Good Thing” It pisses me off so much that my whole family and all you guys on this blog support killing and rape and terror. Because that’s what our troops and the Iraqis are going through on a daily basis.

I mean you see a picture of where a car bomb went off, and you hear the statistics of 40 some-odd people were killed. Well you know what? Each one of those 40 people, wheather Iraqi or not, were scarred for the rest of their life. Those people that died that day, they were real people. They had jobs, friends. They were (are) Mother’s sons, fathers, husbands, wifes, children, etc. Innocent people In the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean you just look at the TV screen think, “Geesh, another car bomb… That’s terrible” But for the soldiers that had to deal with that that day, I would bet it was a life changing experience. YOu see it as just another car bomb…. But for them it was probably very tramatic, an all day thing they delt with that day. It was something they could probably tell their children and grandchildren.

If an Iraqi or American lost their leg or something, than they have really lost their leg. Those are real people, that because of the actions of Americans, are crippled for the rest of their life.

At least with Saddam Hussein in power there was law and order ya know? Something that we can’t seem to accomplish. America is not the police officer of the world, I’ve said that many times. The UN did not support us in going into Iraq. So Bush thought, “Uh, well, the UN is stupid” and went on and raised havoc. The UN is not stupid, and more intelligent and wise than just one nation. We should have listened to them.

Geesh, you guys tell me to think for myself… but why don’t you guys think for yourselves? You all are supporting our presidnt just because he’s the president. I would in all seriousness bet my life on the fact that most of you people have not or can not even at least realize the literal hell of war. The realization of death, injuries, bullets, firefights, pain of losing a loved one, all the terrible things we’ve done due to friendly fire. Wake up and realize what war really is and what is really going on right now. The sensless killing… the violence. And our president enjoys this. A christian supports it. How is it that all of you ‘christians’ support this? I’m not allowed to seperate politics and my religion (like when it comes to the ten commandments in school, and prayer in school and stuff.) But when it comes to war, you guys do seperate your religion from what’s going on in Iraq. You put your religion aside when you talk about it. Ya know you can justify the war and Bush’s actions as much as you want… But justifying something still doesn’t make it right.

IF this is what Christians believe, support and practice (war and violence and such)… Than I don’t think I want to be a Christian. Iraq and Hussein were totally irrelavent to the war on terror and you all know it. But you guys go on and lead your little lives, totally unaffected by the real world. Just blow off some tragedy you see every night on the TV and have your bigoted and closeddmind way of liveing. Please guys… IF you are going to ever take a single thing seriously from me, it is that war is a taste of hell. War is the only hell of earth experince you can have. That’s the only way I know to describe it. This all just one of several reasons that proove George Walker Bush is the antichrist.
