Election Day is Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Nov 2, is election day. Time to hit the polls. You are voting, right? I would encourage everyone to go vote, even if they don’t like any of the candidates. Be sure you know where the candidates stand on the issues that are important for you, and pick the one that you think will be the best leader and will stand up for the beliefs that you hold important. I’m not just talking about Presidential candidates. either. There are many other races that are equally important that will be decided in this election. For those of you in Kentucky, view your ballot online.

Vote now: Who Are You Voting For?

NOTE: This poll, as are the others, is anonymous

Put a lot of attention to local races. Often your local elected officials have more of a direct impact on you than President.

Did everyone notice that the Redskins lost yesterday? Remember your post on that one bro? Hopefully that is not the truth, or the same this year.

Yeah, I already added a comment concerning that to the post (Check the “Most Recent Comments” link on the left)

For those of you in KY don’t forget to vote Yes on the constitutional amendment providing an amendment to the KY constitution stating marriage is between a man and a woman.

VOTE KERRY AND SAVE OUR FREAKIN’ COUNTRY!!!

And Sean… why dont you grow up some and be a little bit more accepting, OK buddy?

  7. Jeremy November 1, 2004 at 20:56 #

Bryan….the reason we aren’t more accepting is because homosexuality is wrong. It says so very plainly in the Bible. As Christians we are commanded to turn away from sin, not accept it. Remember where being accepting got the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah! Are you going to tell God to grow up? Not to mention the fact that I really don’t know what I’d do if someone said, “Oh, you have a wedding ring on. Are you married to a man or a woman?” I know that it wouldn’t be pretty (I have a very short temper!!).

    By the way…..go DUBYA!!

And what ever happened to respect for “elders.” Bryan, you’re 14 (or was it 15?) yet you act like you have all the answers. You’re telling someone else to grow up? And Sean wasn’t attacking you personally, but you attacked him personally. Geesh, gimme a break. Get yourself away from video games and the computer and read your Bible for a change.

Homosexuality is a sin, it is wrong Biblically, and it is wrong biologically.. It isn’t natural. You don’t see two male dogs having sex. It is the sin that is in man that has brought on homosexuality.

I have a really good post on this subject on my website, with two really good links. Everybody should go read it (yes, this is a shameless promotion of my website)! Just click on the ‘View Journal and Archives’ link at the bottom of the page and go to page 2 (the page will eventually change as I post more comments). The post is ‘Those tolerated aren’t tolerant’. I would post a link, but I don’t know if I can use HTML in the comment.

Homosexuality is a natural thing. Rather it be a chemical imbalence or otherwise. Think about it, I bet these people want to be beat up on a street corner, and devistate their parents and go against their faith, and be ridiculed and become the black sheep of the community. Yea I’m sure that’s why people are gay… They want those things to happen to them. Gimme a break. They are the way they are and they didnt choose it. I think thats obvious from the things I just pointed out.

  13. Jeremy November 2, 2004 at 01:51 #

Bryan, you said it yourself. They go against their faith. Homosexuality IS A SIN, and therefore it is not natural. God created man perfect, and then man chose to sin. This is the downfall of man. That is why Jesus had to die on the cross. The only difference between a non-Christian and a Christian, is that a Christian is a sinner saved by Grace. As Christians, we admit that we are sinners and turn away from sin (and yes, homosexuality is a sin…just read the Bible). Sure, we commit sin, but we try not to. And when we do, we ask forgiveness. People who are homosexual CHOOSE to live in sin. As Christians, we cannot belittle or prosecute these people, but at the same time we cannot accept their sinful nature. We have to love them as a person, and show them the Grace of God. That doesn’t mean accepting their homosexuality. If you would like specific Bible verses that deal with this subject, I (and I’m sure Chris and others) would gladly give you some verses that deal with this sin.

Also, you said it is “natural”. Natural is what God created, and it clearly states in Genesis that God create Adam and Eve. That means man and woman. There can be no interpretations on this.

  15. Jeff November 2, 2004 at 07:45 #

    “Homosexuality is a natural thing.”

Sex is for procreation… now, i haven’t had a biology class in 4-5 years, but last time I opened the book, two men or two women cannot create a baby themselves. Homosexuality is NOT naturual. Like I said in an early post (somehow I don’t think you are reading other people’s thoughts, just spouting your own) you don’t see other animials having gay sex. Why not? Because it is NOT natural. Only when sinful man enters the equation, does homosexuality show up.

I’e got an idea. Lets stick all of you in North Korea or Iran or somthin as a drafted soldier and then die… and see if you still want bush in office then. I’ve been thinking latly and in my eyes all republicans are are violent Christians. Hmmm… doesn’t that set us back a few milleniums… Violent holy people…

  17. Chris November 2, 2004 at 12:35 #

I would gladly go fight in Iran or North Korea, or wherever else, if that meant my family would be safe and protected, and that the freedoms of this country would be preserved. And I’m going to vote for a President who would do the same, and who shares my values and beliefs.

  18. Bryan November 2, 2004 at 13:52 #

Than you would be voting for john kerry. he fought in vietnam (despite that it was a short period) he got 3 purple hearts, a bronze star, and the silver star. “dubya” weasled his way out of combat by joining the texas national air guard through connections… and then didn’t even complete his duty there. I will find proof of this… hold on…

  19. Chris November 2, 2004 at 14:29 #

Bryan, I would not be voting for Kerry just because he fought in a war (and his purple hearts and such are disputed). Like I’ve mentioned to you before, there are certain things more important to me than the candidates past military service record. For example, Kerry does not share my morals, values and beliefs, which is much more important to me than he fighting in a war 30+ years ago. Also, I want a leader who is decisive, not changing his mind based on popular opinion at the moment. These are just some of the things I find more important, and for *me*, Bush is the proven leader this country needs.

  20. Jeff November 2, 2004 at 17:19 #

Brian, so you jump ship on the “homosexuality is natural” and move to something else you think you can win? Violent Christians? Please. Freedom is not cheap. We can fight these guys on their territory or we can sit tight (Kerry) and wait for them to come to us. I would personally rather fight the battle over there.

I hope before you turn 18 you can learn how to understand the issues a little better. You just spout what you hear from other liberals and claim it as your own beliefs. Think for yourself.
