Top 12 Ways to Degunk Your PC

It’s spring time, time for cleaning out your car, your house, etc. Nothing like a good spring cleaning to get everything refreshed and ready to go for summer.

In the spirit of this, I pass along the following link, to help you “spring clean” your computer. The article offers good advice that not only should be followed how, but several times throughout the year. Check it out:

Astronomy Picture of the Day

Check out this “Astronomy Picture of the Day”:

Not only is the picture cool, but it’s interesting that this only happens twice a year. Read the explanation on the page for more info.

What Do You Call It?

Many times we use a specific brand name when referencing a product, such as Kleenex for tissue, Xerox for photocopy, etc. Seems some people, with a little too much time of their hands, have done a study of the great “Pop vs. Soda” debate. Here is a map displaying what term is used throughout the country, on a county basis. Check it out:

I, for one, call it a “Coke,” mostly likely since my aunt works for Coca-Cola and I was raised with only Cokes in the house. What about you? Vote below:

Thanks, Jeff, for the new logo!

What Shrek character are you?

I saw Shrek 2 this past weekend. Hilarious movie, as least as good as the first one. I’ll have to see it again, because there were so many little things to catch and I’m sure I missed a bunch. Definitely a must-see.

In the spirit of the new release of the movie, here’s a fun quiz.

Election Campaigns

As the Presidential campaign season heats up, I wanted to point out the websites, and blogs, of the two main contendors for the White House at this point in time:

Websites
George W. Bush
John Kerry

Blogs
George W. Bush
John Kerry

While the November election is a long way away, and whether you are Republican, Democrat, Indepdendent, or other, I encourage each of you to keep up with the candidates, know their agendas, and be aware of how they conduct themselves during this time.

How ’bout them Reds!

Wow, are the Reds hot or what?!? Winning 6 in a row, sweeping the Astros, first place in the NL Central…and having a better record that the hated Yankees. Woohoo! And the Reds, and consequently the fans, are having fun this year. It’s so much fun to watch this team, including their hijinx on and off the field. Go Redlegs, and see ya in September!

Wedding Date Announced

My brother, David, and his fiancé, Elizabeth, have announced their wedding date: May 28, 2005. For those that don’t know, David proposed to Elizabeth on March 12, 2004 in Nashville, TN at the Opryland Hotel.

I’ll be planning the bachelor party, so be sure to send my any ideas you may have for making it memorable ;-)

Paintball Tourney Results

The results for the paintball tournament in which I was recently participated have finally been posted.

On Sun, May 16th, Team Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, of which I am a member, competed in the last of 3 events in their first paintball tournament, the 2004 Spring Challenge Series at Diehard Paintball. The Challenge Series is a 3 event tournament, with events in March, April and May. We didn’t have a very good day at the May event, scoring only 75 points, and placing 10th out of 10 in our division. However, over all 3 events, we ended up in 10th place out of 23 teams. Not bad for our first time! Great job team!

See scoring details of all three events here.

There’s a picture gallery up on Diehard Paintball’s website, which you can view using the following links:
